Home and Garden To-Do for February

If you've had any heavy snowfalls or strong wind, walk around the outside of your home and check for fallen branches, damage, and ice damming or blockage in eaves troughs.

February is a good month to plan your vegetable garden and buy seeds.

For those starting seeds indoors, plant early vegetables such as peas, lettuce, spinach, radish, and other cold-hardy vegetables no later than the end of March. Early planting can extend your harvest time by a month or more.

February is also the time to prune grapes. You can also start pruning shade trees, but not Maple or Birch.
