fractional ownership

A type of ownership where the use and upkeep of a property are split between a number of owners.

All owners share joint responsibility for taxes, repairs, upkeep, and any other obligations that come with the property.

The use of the property is typically shared by dividing the calendar year among the owners.

Contrast with condominium ownership and right to use.
