Home and Garden To-Do for May
It's time for the second fertilizing of the lawn, and also time to fertilize roses, other perennials, and annuals.
Keep planting your vegetables in weekly or bi-weekly intervals, and start thinning out the established vegetables for stronger growth.
Prune spring-flowering shrubs such as forsythia, and remove flower heads from lilacs after bloom.
Prune evergreens and hedges.
Start pinching back chrysanthemums for a greater show of blooms in the fall.
You can still plant perennials or start them from seed.
