An improvement to a house that is attached to the house on a permanent basis, such that removing the improvement would damage the house.

Examples include a furnace, sink faucet, light fixture, built-in dishwasher, built-in oven or stove, a stove hood, and so forth.

Contrast with chattels and real property.
