Using Incandescent Bulbs for Showings

Posted November 15th, 2007 under smart selling.

Lights, lights and more lights! The rising cost of electricity has many home owners switching to energy-saving fluorescent lights. There's no doubt that these are great money-savers.

However, when it comes to showing your home, it's important to shed some light on the subject. This is a time when you need to make your home as bright as possible, and low-wattage fluorescent bulbs just don't cut it. When selling your home, switch back to bright incandescent and have them on when it's time for a showing. The cost of running these lights during a showing is one of the best investments you can make.

Aside from the incandescent having a more pleasing warm colour, putting on your lights assists the agent in showing your home. Searching around for a light switch in a dark room or hallway makes for a poor impression. After all, you are trying to sell the home, not hide it.

Do you want to know more about preparing your home for a showing? Just ask me, I'll be happy to help.
