Realtor Designations

Posted January 9th, 2008 under say what?.

The term 'Realtor' is a registered trademark of the Canadian Real Estate Assocation, and when used with a person's name implies that they are a member of CREA.

As a condition of membership, all Realtors agree to abide by CREA's code of ethics, standards of business practices, and privacy code.

In addition, the local real estate boards (e.g. Toronto Real Estate Board, Brampton Real Estate Board) must abide by CREA's pledge of competition and principles of competition, which ensures that free competition is allowed.

What does this all mean to you? The Realtor mark is your assurance that you are hiring someone who will conduct business ethically, competently, and in your best interests.

Do you have a question about Realtor designations or advertising? Just ask me, I'll be happy to help.
